PHYSICIANS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
PEACE AWARD

The Physicians for Social Responsibility, a high-profile group working worldwide to prevent nuclear war, gives a Holmes sculpture, The Healing Touch, for its annual Peace Award. The 1992 recipient was Dr. Jonas Salk. President Jimmy Carter, Dr. Norman Cousins, Dr. Benjamin Spock, and George Kennan, former ambassador to the Soviet Union, also have been presented with The Healing Touch over the years.
